Brrring, Brrring! Hello, EITC?

Taxes are emblazoned on the brains of OBB trainers and volunteers this time of year. The great mainstay of the season- its star performer- is, as always, the Earned Income Tax Credit (applause(!)) and there is no shortage of online resource material to be gathered for outreach and marketing. The IRS has an EITC Central site which has a whole lot of information to sift through including fact sheets, statistics, PSAs and even a 30 sec. on-hold phone message. I recommend using the site map feature since the website is not the easiest to navigate. The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities has an outreach site with info on EITC campaigns around the country. Click on "NEW-2011 Outreach Tools" in the right sidebar and you'll find marking materials in 21 different languages. Below are two examples of what you can find on the IRS' EITC Central.....and (real) penguins wearing Santa clothes.
